Gallo Morales returns home from prison intent on resuming his career breeding fighting cocks. But his father has willed the prize bird to Gal Io’s son Hector who has different plans. As this symbolic struggle unfolds, the rest of the family becomes involved: Gal Io’s long-suffering wife Juana, libidinous sister Chata, and bright but withdrawn daughter Angela And it is Angela who figures prominently in the climax of this passionate film.
