BEYOND THE CLOUDS (PAR DELÀ LES NUAGES) Galas

Antonioni looks at love in four short stories based on his writings, diaries and short story collection entitled “Bowling Alley on the Tiber.” In the first, a young man is so in love with a girl that he cannot decide to sacrifice his desire to pleasure. In the second, the director is fascinated by a young woman who confesses to him “I have killed my father … “; in the third, couples split up in Paris, and two breakups bring two peple together. The last story asks: “can the same heart love God and men?” With a wraparound directed by Wim Wenders and shot by Wenders collaborator Robby Muller.
