WARRIOR LANLING International Cinema

A breathtaking, poetic myth with classic elements of Shakespeare and Indian folklore which takes
place in ancient China. Young, handsome Prince Lanling is deeply humiliated by the leader of
an opposing tribe who refuses to fight him because of his delicate, girlish features. When his
tribe is desecrated by the enemy, Lanling vows revenge, and carves a mask out of magic wood
to hide his face. Triumphant in battle, Lanling becomes the hero of his tribe, but soon realizes it
is the mask they respect. But the mask merges into his own flesh, and changes his once tender
nature to arrogant and violent, which has disastrous results. Highly visual and epic in scale,
Peter Rainer of the Los Angeles Times calls this “a brilliant display of visual dexterity .. a poetic
and outrageous piece of art.”
