NO MERCY (SIN COMPASION) A Tribute to CIBY 2000: Secrets and No Lies

As in Dostoyevsky’s classic novel, Sin
Compasion tells the story of a poor, tormented
young student, Ramon. He is desperately
trying to find out who he is, first
in an act of justice that he hopes will free
him, then in his meeting with Sonia, a
young woman driven to prostitution whose
pure soul touches, then wins him over.
Along the way, Ramon has to endure persecution
from a stubborn police officer,
with whom he ends up establishing a curious
relationship-a blend of friendship
and hatred. But more than anything else,
Ramon must face up to his own contradictions,
the consequences of the shock
between his sensitive and generous inner
self and the surrounding social reality of
injustice and brutality. Contradictory,
ambivalent, noble, cruel, generous, arbitrary,
the main character traces a painful
path that eventually leads him to a kind of
