FRONTIERLAND (FRONTERILANDIA) A Tribute to Contemporary Mexican Cinema

The title refers not to a location, but rather
to those spaces where cultures intertwine.
This film is an experimental, poetic documentary
of the Lafino experience in border
towns-an exploration, say the directors,
“of the mythical perceptions which both
sides of the border have about each
other.” The spontaneous imagery mirrors
the development of the Mexican American
experience, and the expressionistic elements
create a truly postmodern travelogue-
part traditional documentary, part
“art film,” part music video.
