A SINGLE GIRL (LA FILLE SEULE) European Union Film Showcase

Valerie, played by Virginie Ledoyen, one
morning reveals to her boyfriend, Remi,
played by Benoit Magimel, that she is
pregnant. Neither Valerie nor Remi knows
what this dramatic change within her is to
mean for them as a couple. Over the
course of the day, which is Valerie’s first
day working in Room Service at a Four
Star Hotel, she meditates on the paths of
human nature she crosses, sometimes
comic, sometimes hostile, which lead her
to decipher what is to be her decision
about her future. Later, Valerie meets Remi,
knowing that she wants to raise the child
alone, without him. -Production notes
