THE BLIND COW (DIE BLINDE KUH) European Union Film Showcase

Satellite television in 1994 is available for
all Europeans to enjoy. What is puzzling
scientists as well as the public is why the
ominous flickering swastikas and images
of Hitler have been appearing on a certain
satellite frequency. Two highly opposing
figures meet and embark upon an
investigation: a Luxembourg engineer and
science fiction writer and young officer
from the departing Russian troops in
Germany. Together, they travel through
labyrinthian tunnels of media and history,
pondering the fact that the development of
television coincided with the rise of Nazi
Germany; coming across the “television
train”, the aim of a Nazi Germany media
conspiracy striving to put German television
technology on top; introducing us to a
secret underground bunker and TV-studio
intent on the invasion of public channels.
After fifty years, operation “Blind Cow”
has been reactivated ….
