BURNT BY FROST European Film Showcase

A magnificent film about love in the borderland between realism
and surrealism, created by Norwegian film’s most prominent
lyric poet. Raw and brutal, tender and magical, this film dares to
explore the limits of the medium.
Simon and Lillian are lovers, sprung from the wild northern
Norwegian landscape. But due to his association with Russian
partisans during World War II, Simon becomes entangled in a
fateful intrigue. After the war, he resumes his former Russian
connections – this time as an agent for Soviet intelligence. His
life at home becomes increasingly difficult, and his double life
wears on his relationship with his beloved Lillian, his friends and
his family.
