GOD SAID, HA! Premiere

Filmed before a live audience, GOD SAID HA! brings SATURDAY
NIGHT LIVE alum Julia Sweeney’s critically-acclaimed stage
production (that had its world debut in San Francisco) to the
screen. Shortly after Sweeney moves into her dream Hollywood
bungalow or, as she likes to call it, her “symbol of
independence,” her life begins to spin out of control. Her broth
is diagnosed with inoperable cancer and moves into her house
Soon after her parents drive down from Spokane and move int
her guestroom, Sweeney herself is diagnosed with cancer. As
Sweeney says, “and for the next nine months, there we all were
in my perfect little house made for one.” With remarkable
candor and humor, Sweeney draws the audience into this
whirling dervish of a household in an exquisitely written,
occasionally heart-wrenching and often times hilarious
monologue. The film’s title is aptly based on an old Yiddish
saying that says, “If you want G9d to laugh, make plans.”
