RIEN SUR ROBERT European Film Showcase

In this wryly comic look at the tribulations of a mid-life crisis, magazine critic Didier finds his world turning upside down. He is haunted by his own actions – including a disastrous review in which he condemns a film without having seen it – and by the paranoid conviction that he is being followed by a dork-haired man. Unsettled, he quarrels with his prickly girlfriend Juliette, who promptly leaves him for a stronger she meets in a park.

Later, Didier attends a dinner party where he is badgered relentlessly by the host, and finally meets his dark-haired shadow. Making his way through the labyrinthine house, Didier encounters Aurelie, a beautiful but disturbed young woman who attempts to seduce him. Still in love with Juliette, Didier embarks on an affair with Aurelie, leading to on increasingly tangled situation as he seeks to anchor himself in an insane world.
