SCHPAAA European Film Showcase

Thirteen-year-aid Jonas and his friend Mir, a ticking time bomb always ready to explode into violence, are part of a small gang in Oslo. Easy money calls when Mir’s uncle gives them two assignments: deliver some heroin to one of his customers and beat up another one. Gradually, Mir comes to believe they may have attacked the man to whom they were supposed to give the drugs. Their mistake results in escalating violence and a crucial moment in which Jonas lets down his best friend, leading to a tragedy that offers both despair and hype for the future.

A penetrating story about friendship, betrayal, loss of innocence and the search for identity, SCHPAAA (slang for “cool!”) sent shock waves through the Norwegian media due to its all-too-realistic depiction of urban youths.
