HENRY HILL New Directions

A character study within a dark romantic comedy, HENRY HILL is a tender yet hilarious portrait of a young man coming to terms with himself and his chosen life. Henry is a violin virtuoso living in New York, whose paralyzing stage fright keeps him from performing. Destitute and in despair, Henry shoots himself, but the bullet misses its mark. Returning to the comfort of his family in his small Maine hometown, Henry explores the childhood incidents that have shaped his current fears, one of which was the suicide of his music teacher, Uncle Owen. Late one night, Henry meets a young woman who is trying to steal gasoline. He pumps it for her instead, and the next day she moves into the late Owen’s hut and lands a job at Henry’s mother’s cafe. Romance looms on the horizon, but Henry still has to deal with the complications of his musical desires and his debilitating stage fright.
