STARRY NIGHT Special Presentations

When Vincent van Gogh committed suicide in 1890, he was considered a failure-during his lifetime only one of his paintings sold. If he returned today, van Gogh would be shocked by his reputation as one of the artistic geniuses of the millennium. Inspired by the Don Mclean song Starry Starry Night, this film explores what van Gogh might do in contemporary America.

The story begins in 1885 as Vincent is painting his masterpiece, The Potato Eaters. After offering him a potion with strange powers, a peasant woman predicts that the flowers will call him back to the living world, giving him one more chance to realize his dreams. Her prophecy comes true and Vincent reappears at the Tournament of Roses Parade. Disoriented, he walks into the path of a float and ends up in the hospital. Clearly, he has some adapting to do. But this time around, with the love of an understanding woman and the help of a cunning lawyer, Vincent might actually get paid!
