TERMINAL RITE (RITO TERMINAL) Latin Cinema Series

In the tradition of magical realism, TERMINAL RITE explores the fascinating and enigmatic encounter between two worlds that are always naturally together, but which modern man chooses for comfort to hold apart.

After leaving the native community where he has been documenting local rituals, a photographer has several strange experiences: his photos are mysteriously ruined, he literally loses his shadow and the apparition of a woman recurs to him. He returns to the community to seek answers. In a spiritual exchange during a woman’s funeral, the photographer loses his convictions about his own life. He must take a different path in his journey-sharing it with the people of the village-before he can reclaim himself.

Writer-director Urrutia Lazo keeps attention locked on the screen from beginning to end, resolving his story in the smoothest way possible.
