ALCATRAZ AVENUE New Directions From American Independents

Imagine a writer who gets all his ideas from real life situations-only he creates the situations himself, filling his work with suspense and the destruction of innocent people.

In writer-director Tom Edgar’s ALCATRAZ AVENUE, David-an aspiring writer with a very disturbed family history-wants to write a novel about the “normal” American Family. He poses as a student in order to rent a room from the Contreras; so begins the downward spiral of their existence at his hands. But in the end, even he can’t control the course of events.

David cares little for the people he must destroy to make his book more “commercially feasible.” ALCATRAZ AVENUE examines what happens when the creative side of the industry not only imitates life but determines it.
