Shoji Kawamori’s animated ESCAFLOWNE THE MOVIE: A GIRL IN GAIA is a story about Hitomi Kanzaki, an ordinary high school student who feels that her life has lost all meaning. She wishes that she could just disappear into thin air – a wish that is granted, thrust into a strange new world called Gaia, Hitomi is caught ina struggle for power over a legendary dragon armor called Escaflowne. Ruled by sword and sorcery, Hitomi and the young Prince Van join a rebel group in a fight against the Black Dragon Clan. But as the fierce battle rages on, Hitomi finds her destiny colliding with those around her, while the lives of everyone on Gaia hang in the balance.
