PIE IN THE SKY: THE BRIGID BERLIN STORY Documentary Competition

Chronicling the obsessive and fascinating life of Warhol’s Chelsea Girl, Brigid Berlin, PIE IN THE SKY reveals the cult figure’s segue from wealthy socialite to trash-talking-rebel-bad-girl.

The naughty and outspoken Brigid Berlin was raised as a wealthy debutante in a right-winged conservative family. After years of struggling with her weight due to pressure from her domineering mother, Brigid shocked her family by taking to Warhol’s art scene. Seduced by the drugs, glamour and counter-culture appeal of The Factory, Brigid became known for her “tit paintings,” Polaroid art, tape-recorded phone calls and her butch attitude.

Through interviews with John Waters, Patty Hearst and Bob Colacello, this documentary studies the painful, lifelong issues of Brigid Berlin and her provocative life as an Andy Warhol “superstar.”
