EVERY STEWARDESS GOES TO HEAVEN (TODAS LAS AZAFATAS VAN AL CIELO) International Feature Competition

Director Daniel Burman’s deeply satisfying E VERY STEWARDESS GOES TO HEAVEN is a rousing confirmation that Argentinean independent filmmaking is alive and well, championing a new style of filmmaking incorporating strong narratives and complex visual styles.

This is the story of a woman who is trying not to fall from heaven and a man who is trying to ascend, who meet inescapably at the end of the earth. Teresa (Ingrid Rubio) is a stewardess who lives in her own heaven of pantomime and little trays of frozen food. She has a great fear of the depth of a grounded life. Julian (Alfredo Casero) is a doctor and a new widower, who must go to the southernmost city in the world to scatter the ashes of his wife (also a stewardess) at the place where they first met. He wants to escape to heaven.

With visual experimentation intermeshed with robust characters, Burman has made a most enjoyable film dealing with truth, lies and falling in love.
