DON’T TEMPT ME (SIN NOTICIAS DE DIOS) Latin Cinema Series

In this very imaginative comedy by Agustin Díaz Yanes, feisty bad girl Penelope Cruz and sexy angel Victorial Abril are instruments in a battle between Heaven and Hell to rule the world.

Angel Lola (Victoria Abril), a nightclub singer in her spare time, is sent to Earth to save the soul of a boxer, Manny (Damian Bechir). Her mission is compromised, however, when Carmen (Penelope Cruz), a waitress from Hell, appears as Manny’s long-lost cousin and also tries to take over his soul. Pulling their strings are the respective executives of Heaven and Hell, Marina D’ Angelo (Fanny Ardant) and Jack Davenport (Gael Garcia Bernal), who manage the nether worlds as if they were multinational companies.

Agustin Diaz Yanes crafts a metaphor of our modern world, in which evil is often revealed in very “corporate like” manners. The film is a barmy, playful meditation on good and evil.
