GETTING MY BROTHER LAID (MEIN BRUDER DER VAMPIR) Made in Germany

A truly audacious, disarmingly frank comedy from Germany about a family that manages to put the fun back into being dysfunctional.

Fourteen-year old shutterbug Nic is pretty sure things will make a lot more sense once she has sex, so-camera in hand-she sets about to prove her theory. Meanwhile, her brother Mike obsesses about satisfying his new girlfriend, Nadine, while fretting about autistic brother Josch becoming a proper man, now that he’s turning 30. Mike goes to noble-and ignoble-ends to make that happen, but the child-like Josch only wants to be with Nadine. Ultimately, Mike’s manic mission becomes Nic’s astonishing achievement.

It’s no small feat the facility with which director Sven Taddicken handles such taboo subjects as masturbation and incest, He’s more than ably assisted by a game cast, especially Hinnerk Schonemann’s earnest Mike and Roman Knizka’s exacerbating yet endearing Josch.
