DOUBLE DARE American Directions

You won’t find their names above the title. Spanning more than 25 years and three continents, Amanda Micheli’s documentary uncovers the success and struggle of two talented stunt people who just happen to be women.

Jeannie Epper grew up in a show business family, “the Flying Wallendas of film,” as Steven Spielberg describes them. He r fearless spirit makes it clear why she has landed dozens of coveted jobs, including Wonder Woman. Acrobatic newcomer Zoe Bell proved herself in her native New Zealand as stunt double on XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS. With Jeannie still facing industry prejudice and Zoe wondering if she should try Hollywood, the two meet as they plot the next steps in their careers.

Ranging from backyard training sessions to the casting for these anonymous look alike roles, DOUBLE DARE rips off the wigs, costumes and safety harnesses to show how two women with fierce determination and contagious enthusiasm can succeed in a male-dominated business.
