SANSA International Feature Competition

Imagine what a trance might look like through the eyes of the hypnotized and you might approximate the experience of watching writer/director Siegfried’s boldly original film, in which Roschdy Zem turns in a perfectly mesmerizing performance as the alluring and elusive title character. Writer/director Siegfried’s much-admired first feature LOUISE (TAKE 2) depicted a young woman’s fantasies and experiences as she rambled through Paris; this second chapter shows the meanderings of her male counterpart, Sanso.

As his name attests, Sanso is a man without-a man without pretense or prejudice, means or guile, limitations or boundaries; a man without a care in the world he traverses with seemingly ethereal ease. But Sansa’s story is really about the one thing he cannot be without-the human connection he literally travels the world seeking and the unlikeliest of friendships he forges with an elderly conductor.

Expect to approach sensory overload watching this vivid film’s images pulse and burst on screen, creating an overall exhilarating experience.
