ADAM & EVA Made in Germany

Paul Harather’s exquisitely charming ADAM & EVA is a comic, disarming and accomplished dissection of the quintessential fairytale ending.

Fireman Adam saved the beautiful Eva from a fire four years earl married her-a fairy tale come true. But instead of living happily ever after, Adam is bored with Eva’s predictability. Eva, in turn, is annoyed with Adam’s lack of fire-and his reluctance to have kids. When temptation comes their way, they taste of the forbidden fruit: Adam throws himself into an affair with a sexy young nanny, and Eva falls for an elegant and successful executive – who wants kids. But instead of being banned from paradise, Adam and Eva stay firmly planted where they are. Juggling their consciences and expectations – not to mention their friends, families and lovers – they come up with a novel solution that would make life in the Garden of Eden look unbearably dull.

Harather’s direction leaves the viewer in capable hands, he is an astute observer of human foibles and deadpan comedy.
