FOUR CORNERS OF SUBURBIA American Directions

How do we know whether thoughts of straying are triggered by a lack of fulfillment in an existing relationship or by our own selfishness? The stunning Miidchen Amick leads a strong ensemble cast examining just such questions.

Walt is a teacher with a doting wife and two young girls. He might seem to have it all. But, when he meets a woman who rekindles the idealism of his youth, his wife Rachel senses trouble. She plans a romantic getaway, but two other couples show up, setting in motion a pas de six-style chaotic weekend filled with insights and observations. Walt and Rachel must decide what they really want in life and what they’re willing to do to get it.

Adapted from her own play, Elizabeth Puccini’s film and her innate sense of humanity naturally draw the audience into this rich character study. The pitch-perfect cast seems to relish the opportunity, as they deftly negotiate the emotional twists and turns.
