Sun-joe has recently split from her husband and moved to o new apartment with her daughter, Tae-soo. One night, riding home on the subway, she finds a pair of red shoes and is inexplicably compelled to take them home-on act that sets off a chain of events that leads to horrific consequences for the family. Sun-joe tries to resume some semblance of a normal life, but the shoes have a strange power over her.
