PABLO: THE POET’S LIVES International Documentary Competition

A surreal cinematic tribute to one of the world’s greatest poets, PABLO, THE POET’S LIVES is an impressionist’s homage that beckons you to spend some time reveling in the words and images that drift before you.

The story of Chile’s Pablo Neruda, winner of the World Peace Prize and the Nobel Prize in Literature, is told warmly through his friends, fellow artists, poets and countrymen. Using his words of family, love, poverty, country and war – interspersed with interviews describing his influence, against a backdrop of colorful imagery and music from his homeland – PABLO: THE POET’S LIVES reveals snippets of Neruda’s life and reaffirms his intense ability to speak to the masses through his inquisitive elegance.

At times quiet, desolate and contemplative, and at others jubilant and festive, PABLO: THE POET’S LIVES is a melodic celebration of “the people’s poet.” New fans will join the ranks, the casual reader will go deeper and legions of fans will rejoice.
