FITS AND STARTS American Independents

Actor/comedian Wyatt Cenac delivers a double dollop of his trademark deadpan charm in this fantastic and funny debut from director Laura Terruso. Cenac plays David, a writer who hasn’t yet attained the success he wants so desperately from the literary world. On the other hand, his wife Jennifer (played by the equally comic and charming Greta Lee) enjoys a skyrocketing writing career. This tension comes to a head when the couple takes a road trip to a prestigious publisher’s home for a writer’s salon. With FITS AND STARTS, Terruso delivers a first feature as refreshing and hilarious as it is resonant and deeply felt. – Lane Kneedler
