Bios

Classically trained as an actress, Shelly Lauman comes to filmmaking via a career on some of Australia’s most prestigious stages. She earned her MFA in Directing at the AFI Conservatory (Class of 2015) and is the recipient of the Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence Award. Her short films include WOMAN OUTSIDE, LUNCHBOX and TWO DUCKS. Her latest film BIRDIE premiered at Toronto and Melbourne International film festivals, and was recently acquired by Fox Searchlight.
