In March 2018, Nikol Pashinyan, a former journalist and opposition member of the Armenian parliament, began a protest march from Armenia’s second largest city to the capital; only a couple of dozen supporters joined him. But by the time he reached Yerevan, the crowd had grown into the thousands. Uniting the protesters was President Serzh Sargsyan’s bold move, after serving the maximum number of terms in office, to hold onto power as Prime Minister. Soon, the streets of Yerevan became the battleground for an unprecedented, democratic, non-violent revolution.

In this fascinating, edge-of-your-seat documentary, filmmaker Garin Hovannisian captures every dramatic twist and turn and offers unprecedented access to the grassroots movement that dared to challenge a corrupt regime, as well as the regime’s political and military leaders themselves. –Ken Jacobson
