Following the program, AFI Festivals Programmer Eric Moore leads a conversation between filmmakers Yi Tang (BLACK GOAT), Em Weinstein (IN FRANCE MICHELLE IS A MAN’S NAME), Seungee Kim (TIGER & OX), Erica Tremblay (LITTLE CHIEF), Inès Girihiwe (BREAKING GROUND), Johnson Cheng (LONELY BLUE NIGHT), Kimi Howl Lee (CHILD OF LAND).

What does divorce mean to women in Korean patriarchal society? Is a fatherless family a failure? In order to find the answer to these questions, a single mother and her daughter start a conversation.

Bio

Seunghee Kim has pursued her career as an animation filmmaker since 2014. Her films, MIRROR IN MIND and THE REALM OF DEEPEST KNOWING, were screened at numerous international film festivals. Also, she is an invited artist for Cité des Arts in France (2018), and the Samsung Foundation of Culture supported her residency.
