ALL THAT’S LEFT OF YOU (اللي باقي منك)

Unfolding over seven decades, ALL THAT’S LEFT OF YOU is an epic, deeply moving portrait of three generations of a Palestinian family and their struggles against the unrelenting pressures of occupation. The film opens in the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, where Salim (Saleh Bakri) lives with his wife Hanan (writer/director Cherien Dabis) and their teenage son, Noor. As political unrest intensifies, Noor is drawn into the charged, dangerous streets where a tragic incident forces the family to confront both their future and the long shadow of the past. Moving fluidly between the years, this affecting drama reveals the clan’s forced displacement from a majestic, sprawling compound on their Jaffa orange grove in 1948 to permanent refugee status in their own homeland. With layered storytelling, affecting performances and an unflinching gaze, Dabis crafts a powerful meditation on loss, resilience and the ways in which inherited trauma shapes identity across generations. –Mimi Brody
