AFI is committed to ensuring all patrons have the opportunity to fully experience AFI FEST.

Accessibility is an essential part of our values, and the festival aims to reduce barriers while honoring the diversity of our audience. Please note, some films screened at AFI FEST are pre-release versions and may not include accessibility features such as closed captions or audio descriptions that one would otherwise expect at a standard theatrical screening. Please let us know your needs while purchasing tickets: you can email fest.theaterops@afi.com. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.

General Accessibility

• Wheelchair Accessibility: All AFI FEST venues are wheelchair accessible, with designated seating areas available for patrons using mobility devices.
• Service Animals: Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) under Title II and Title III, are welcome at all AFI FEST events.

Screenings & Devices

• Audio Description: Devices for patrons who are Blind or have Low Vision are available in limited supply for select screenings.
• Assistive Listening & Amplification: Devices to support patrons who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing are available in limited supply.
• Personal Captioning Devices: Available in limited supply upon request at AFI FEST venues.

Please note: AFI FEST endeavors to provide accessibility information to our guests through its website. Based on the guidance AFI FEST receives from its partners in presentation, we believe these types of assistive technologies may be available for many of the films screened at AFI FEST. However, please confirm the availability of specific technologies for specific films with fest.theaterops@afi.com.

Communication Access

• ASL Interpretation: Requests for American Sign Language interpreters must be submitted no less than 14 days before AFI FEST. Requests made after this window will be accommodated whenever possible.
• Festival Staff Support: All front-facing team members are prepared to assist patrons with respect, patience, and awareness of accessibility needs.

Ticketing & Accommodations

• Refund Policy: Patrons with disabilities who purchase a ticket, ticket package, or pass prior to accessibility information being posted are entitled to a full refund if accessibility concerns arise with AFI FEST venues.
• Companion Access: Patrons who require a personal attendant may request a complimentary ticket or access for a companion once 2025 AFI FEST tickets are available.
