MOISE Cinema From Other Countries: Canada in Brief

Four shorts from a special collection showcasing original works from new Quebec screenwriters. In The Visitor, a terrified woman spends the night in her closet listening to an intruder whose uncanny behavior indicates that he belongs there. When a baby mysteriously appears at the door of a childless Hasidic couple in Moise, they can’t help but wonder if a miracle has occurred. A brief encounter deeply effects the lives of an elderly woman and the adolescent who has broken into her home in Lea. They Have Walked on the Moon tells an unusual coming-of-age tale set against the background of the 1969 moon walk. -Pearl Fisher
