STREET WARS U.S.A. Independent Cinema - Fiction

Acclaimed director Jamaa Fanaka puts a new, fanciful twist in the gangster genre with Street Wars. Seventeen-year-old Sugarpop graduates from an exclusive military academy as “top gun” of a class trained in ultra-light aircraft. Celebrating his acceptance to West Point with his older brother Frank -a successful street gangster who put him through high school in the hope of family legitimacy- young Sugarpop’s life is suddenly changed when he witnesses and avenges his brother’s assassination. With the help of Humungus, Frank’s massive right-hand man, Sugarpop takes over the organization, vowing to make it legitimate. What ensues is very timely, thought-provoking and adventurous entertainment.
