Emma Croft portrays Rosalind. a young noblewoman who steals away from court life to the romantic Forest of Arden disguised as a boy. There she discovers an exiled Duke (Don Henderson) and his loyal men. including comic Jacques (James Fox) and romantic Orlando (Andrew Tiernan) Rosalind and Orlando share barbed comments as they fall in love. despite their disguised identities. Cyril Cusack and Miriam Margolyes are among those in the superb supporting ensemble.
