SCREAM OF STONE (SCHREI AUS STEIN) European Cinema

Spectacular scenes of a dizzying ascent and breathtaking mountain landscapes provide the backdrop to a parable of fatal passions in renowned director Werner Herzog’s latest film. Roccia is the most experienced mountaineer in the world; Martin, representative of a younger generation, is the best rock climber. A supreme egotist, Roccia accepts a challenge to scale the toughest mountain in the world, an extraordinary granite peak called Cera Torre. Martin decides to join his rival for the climb. The already rocky friendship between Martin and Roccia is further strained by the defection of Roccia’s beautiful girlfriend to Martin’s camp. The two rivals climb the mountain in a blind rage, pushing themselves towards a stunning, but tragic end.
