DEKALOG 1 The Decalogue

Krzysztof (Henryk Baranowski), a middle-aged mathematician, uses his home computers to strengthen his relationship with his young son (Wojciech Klata). Krzysztof insists on raising his son according to principles of scientific rationalism, and realizes-tragically-that his computer calculations cannot render the world predictable or safe. Henry Sheehan (Hollywood Reporter) commented “Kieslowski sketches out a complete ethical landscape, in which issues of family love, religion, and social responsibility all coalesce into a drama of searing power.” (53 min.)
