THE LUNATIC Tribute to Americas Film Festival

Filmed on Jamaica’s northern coast and featuring the music of Toots and the Maytals, Aswad, Burning Flames, and Black Uhuru, The Lunatic is the ribald feature film debut of music video pioneer Loi Creme. It is the story of genial village madman Aloysius Hobson and his exhausting affair-“pum pum,” it’s called-with German tourist Inga Schmitt. Inga is so insatiable that she takes on the local butcher Service Johnson as a second lover. When she persuades them to rob a white man’s house, comjc hell breaks loose in this heavenly part of the world.-Eddie Cockrell
