UNDERWATER U.S. Independents - Short Films

Underwater is the story of an introverted twelve-year-old girl, Patty Rose, who has developed a terrible fear of water since the death of her father. The collision of Patty’s fantasies and a real-life crisis force her to confront her fears. Waving Not Drowning is the darkly comedic portrayal of a young man searching for the reason for his sister’s suicide, and the source of the persistent ringing in his ears. Evoking the memory of Thomas Mann’s novella, Death in Venice, CA, tells the story of Mason Carver, an expert on the subject of romantic love, who finally finds the passion he has studied but never known.
