THE OUTPOST (A RÉSZLEG) 45/95 Hungarian Film Series

Atmospheric and poetic, this is an allegory of a society which finds itself mystified and humiliated
by the often arbitrary dictates of authority. An engineer is abruptly and inexplicably transferred to
a new job as head of a section. Under escort, she travels by train and then hand-powered rail
rider to the outpost, up in the mountains drowned in snow on the shore of a take, consisting of a
hut with two beds, a rodent of a man and a bunch of scurrying ferrets. This will be her new home.
