SUPERIOR PEOPLE New at Press Time

In the summer of 1995, I brought a film crew back to my hometown, Superior, Iowa. Most people fly over America’s heartland and think that nothing is there. I wanted to present an accurate picture of family farming and life in a small American town. Here was an opportunity to give a face to the impending doom of the lifestyle upon which this country was founded. In Superior People, I wanted to represent the natural wonders I remembered from my childhood, as well as the possibilites available when we cooperate with each other and respect the land. – Frank Leupold
