GREEN FISH World Cinema

Fresh from finishing his military service,
Mak-Dong rescues Mi-Ae, a damsel in
distress on a train, who only leaves behind
her scarf as a memento. Smitten, MakDong
returns home to a fragmented
family whose remaining members, except
for his polio-stricken brother, are
indifferent to him. Yearning to earn
enough money to open a restaurant and
bring together his siblings, Mak-Dong
moves to Seoul and stumbles upon Mi-Ae,
returning her scarf and unwittingly
becoming drawn into her shady life in a
secret underworld of gangsters and
violence.
