BLACK SABBATH (I TRE VOLTI DELLA PAURA) Halloween Movie Marathon

Kick off the Halloween weekend with our all-night Halloween Movie Rave- -Thon! On Friday night the Vogue Theatre will host five classic horror, sci-fi and cult films. Most will include live accompaniment, as guest DJs from Berlin DJ Traveler & DJ Neucleus and notorious L.A. DJs Carlos Nino & Tony Watson spin a web of movie madness. The terror lives with special treats that only get better as the night descends!

The evening starts with the world premiere of the newly-restored classic horror film BLACK SABBATH, starring Boris Karloff and directed by legendary horror master Mario Bava. Our second Halloween treat is David Lynch’s cult masterpiece ERASERHEAD. If you’ve never experienced ERASERHEAD on the big screen with its amazing visuals and hauntingly disturbing sound mix, you’ve been deprived of one of life’s great film experiences. Then comes Jan Svankmajer’s ALICE, an intoxicating, dark and surreal take on the Lewis Carroll childhood tale. This “Alice” is anywhere but in wonderland! Next comes one of the greatest horror films of all time, CURSE OF THE DEMON, by master horror director Jacques Tourneur. The demon from this film is still considered to be one of the most visually frightening creatures in the history of cinema. The evening ends with another Mario Bava masterpiece, the eerie sci-fi classic PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES. This creepy, atmospheric film was the prototype for many of the alien flicks that followed.
