ODD LITTLE MAN (DA JETRAFF JESES… UED SPRETTERT) International Competition

Based on the book THE WORLD OF MY CHILDHOOD by Norway’s beloved jazz poet Odd Borretzen, ODD UTILE MAN takes us back to the years when Borretzen was a child. The film is at once thoughtful, darkly funny, and penetratingly astute about that oftdepicted moment in time when one develops a raw awareness of life.

Odderman has serious doubts about the values of growing up. He and his brother are on the verge of puberty, there is a war on and planes are shooting at the heavenly host. In a series of vignettes, Odderman awakens to the depths of everyday life as time recklessly careens ahead at break-neck speed.

Supported by the flawless performance of young Frederik Stenberg Ditlev-Simonsen, Stein Leikanger has created a magically poignant and fiercely insightful film.
