TO LOVE, TOO MUCH (DEMASIADO AMOR) Latin Cinema Series

TO LOVE, TOO MUCH is a sensual and contemplative film adaptation based on Sara Sefchovich’s novel Demasiado Amor, which won the Agustin Yanez prize.

Beatriz and her sister, Laura, have a dream to immigrate to another country and open a boarding house. In an effort to save money, Beatriz works additional hours at a tedious office job in Mexico City. Seated in a cafe most days, Beatriz is approached by one man after another who is willing to pay her for her time, affording Beatriz the opportunity to save quite a bit for her dreams abroad. In the process, Beatriz falls in love with a man who shows her idyllic landscapes in Mexico. Eventually, Beatriz discovers that her own country is the place she wants to be and that she need not look elsewhere.

Director Ernesto Rimoch Lewinberg’s subtle directorial hand has created an elegant, visually rich atmosphere for this adaptation.
