EVIL (ONDSKAN) European Showcase

Just when you thought it was safe lo go back to boarding school, this Swedish box office hit provides a stinging reminder of the dark side of initiations, educational discipline and standing up for your principles.

Erik keeps getting expelled for fighting despite being a good student. His mother gives him one last chance at an exclusive boarding school. There he is quickly introduced to the pecking order: older students mete out punishments to younger ones, while the teachers remain aloof. Refusing lo knuckle under to the arrogant bullies who run the place causes Erik endless grief. Meanwhile, he befriends his bookworm roommate, becomes the star of the swimming team and romances a Finnish kitchen worker.

Based on an autobiographical novel, EVIL relentlessly depicts a battle between good and evil for the soul of a young man. The incandescent Andreas Wilson stands out as Erik, a warrior who wants lo be left in peace.
