THE PUPPETEER Omar Sharif Retrospective

THE PUPPETEER is made in the tradition of the best of Egyptian melodramas; it involves a moral fight between good and evil intertwined with so and dance. Omar Sharif stars as an aging puppet-player, a self-declared artist with a message against social injustice.

The film poignantly captures his heroic struggles to fund his son Bahloul’s education and the latter’s corruption in the big city. THE PUPPETEER has also been recognized for its colorful direction and cinematography.
