INFERNAL AFFAIRS 3 (WU JIAN DAO 3) Asian New Classics

Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai return in the final chapter of the award-winning saga. Rather than take a straightforward approach to a sequel, the events of the first film are both anticipated and deconstructed with a moody, meditative lens.

We follow Yan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) in the months leading up to his showdown with Ming (Andy Lau). Yan is enduring a particularly troublesome period in his under cover work. Sam (Eric Tsang) is expanding his criminal empire lo Mainland China and testing out Yan’s supposed loyalty. We flash forward to Ming months later, as he becomes an increasingly solitary and morose figure, struggling to slay one step ahead of the lop-secret Security Wing and their leader, Yeung (Leon Lai).

Featuring complex competing storylines and compelling performances, INFERNAL AFFAIRS Ill is told as a mystery that encompasses surprising action, brief moments of joy and the search for eternal redemption.
