THE STRANGE COLOUR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS (L’ÉTRANGE COULEUR DES LARMES DE TON CORPS) Midnight

From the directors of AMER and the “O is for Orgasm” segment of THE ABC’S OF DEATH (AFI FEST 2012) comes this gorgeous and lurid homage to masters of classic Italian Giallo horror. Dan returns home to his Art Nouveau apartment building to find that his wife is missing. The police are no help, and there are no signs of a struggle or a break-in. His search for answers leads him to uncover strange details about his neighbors’ lives and, unexpectedly, Dan slowly begins to suffer from hallucinations and madness. THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS is a bloody and taut psychosexual rabbit hole, a puzzle that begs not to be solved but invites the audience to revel in the sadomasochistic eroticism of the directing duo’s ultra-saturated color scheme.

Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani met in Brussels in 2000 and started making short films, mostly shot in their apartment, which played at genre and mainstream festivals around the world. They made their first feature, the award-winning horror film AMER in 2009, and contributed the short O IS FOR ORGASM in the ABCS OF DEATH (AFI FEST 2012) anthology, which united 26 emerging directors of the international fantastic film scene.
