DON’T BE BAD (NON ESSERE CATTIVO) Presentations

Set in the drug-fueled scene of the mid-‘90s, DON’T BE BAD follows a pair of twentysomething best friends who are forever chasing the next high. When an alluring woman enters their lives, everything they know comes into question.  As they drift apart and then together again, the lure of the hard-partying lifestyle threatens to tear their worlds apart. Italy’s submission for this year’s Best Foreign Language Film Oscar®, DON’T BE BAD is also the final film of director Claudio Caligari, who passed away a few months before the film’s premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival.

Claudio Caligari (1948-2015) began his career as a documentary filmmaker, and went on to make his first narrative feature, TOXIC LOVE, in 1983, winning the De Sica Award at the Venice International Film Festival. Fifteen years later he made his follow-up feature, THE SCENT OF THE NIGHT, and in 2015, DON’T BE BAD.
